The Korea Fire-fighting Apparatus Certification(KFAC) is a certification system established to ensure reliability by comprehensively evaluating the performance, quality, and production systems of fire equipment.

Overview of Korea Fire-fighting Apparatus Certification (KFAC)

The Korea Fire-fighting Apparatus Certification(KFAC) is a system under the Fire Equipment Management Act that grants certification to companies capable of continuously and consistently producing products that meet or exceed the certification standards, through rigorous evaluation by a designated certification body.
  • KOTITI Testing & Research Institute has been designated as a KFAC certification body in accordance with Article 14 of the Fire Equipment Management Act and Article 19 of its Enforcement Decree.

Required Documents

  • Application form for Korea Fire-fighting Apparatus Certification: [Annex Form No. 1] of the Enforcement Rules of the Fire Equipment Management Act
  • Business registration certificate or equivalent documents (submitted for each factory)
  • Power of attorney (if applying through a representative)
  • Product description of the fire equipment
  • List of components/parts of the fire equipment
  • Technical documents such as mechanical drawings
  • Documents related to the operation of the quality management system: Refer to Article 5 of the operational regulations and Annexes 1–5
    (Annex 1: General information, Annex 2: Representative’s declaration, Annex 3: Personnel status, Annex 4: Testing facilities, Annex 5: Manufacturing facilities, operational procedures, etc.)
