According to the Article 26(3) of the Water Supply and Waterworks Installation Act, designation procedure, monitoring standards, inspection cycle, etc. of the Drinking Water Watch Items(hereafter 'Watch items') should be specified and regulated.
Definition
The definitions of the terms are as follows.
'Watch item' refers to the substances that does not have quality standards yet, but requires surveillance in order to ensure the safety of drinking water.
'Watch standard' refers to the target value of water quality which is set based on the health risks of substances designated as 'watch item'. The standard is set to the level that does not cause a hazard to health even with lifelong intake.
