Pilot process research center is the first-established spinning research center in Korea, composed of spinning facilities such as a bale opener, a carding machine, a drawing frame, a roving frame, a ring-spinning frame, a winder, a circular knitting machine, a weaving machine and a doubling and twisting machine.

It has been playing an important role as follows :
- Developing the new spinning technology
- Evaluating the spinnability of new developed staple-fibers, objectively and quantitatively
- Training new employees working on textile industry.
