The effect of ultrasonics on the continuous dyeing of narrow nylon fabrics (ribbons) with acid dyes is investigated. It is found that the speed at which the fabrics pass through a mangle influences the ultrasonic treatment: continuous dyeing at low speeds at 80°C (0.5m/min) enhances the dyeing, whereas at 3m/min ultrasonics has no effect.
