An analysis of the German economy between 1993-1994 focuses on the textile industry and trade. Slight recovery is forecast for 1994, particularly in the second half. The recession experienced over the past few years by the industry probably bottomed out in 1993. Of all the sectors in the German textile industry, the finishing sector has suffered the worst effects of the recession, losing over 20 percent of its production since 1991. This sector is forecast to stabilize in 1994.
