The new Sigmascope thread pitch measuring device from James H. Heal and Company uses advanced optical scanning to provide an immediate, accurate read out of thread pitch in woven and knit fabircs. The company created a new commercial application for machine division devices produced by CIMTEX by introducing such refinements as the use of a line scan camera that covers a range of between 8 and 80 centimeters per inch. The operator aligns the fbric under the scanner by using a bar chart tha tindicates correct alignment on the LCD readout. Thread pitch is indicated on the LCD screen. The machine can be used for cut fabric or with finished apparel, and can operate alone or in conjunction with a personal computer.
