ITF, a German company specializing in systems integration, has developed PDA, an open system that provides online, real time acquisition and processing of production data. The software includes ITF MultiLine (Preparation and weaving), ITF InfoLine (Preparation and finishig), and ITF approveLine (fabric inspection and pakdaging). The basic hardware for PDA comprises Netline Terminals, which are rugged, compact IBM-PC compatible computers designed for industrial environments. Critical production data include operator information, production tiem, downtime, and product information. a Local Area Newtork links the Netline Terminals to each other and to existing information systme. The sooftware is a fourth generation language for MS-DOS.
