A two sided hot plate measured the effective thermal conductivity of Nomex fibers under a variety of expericmental conditions, including different mean temperatures, fill gases, and atmospheric pressures. After laboratory testing, researchers derived two mathematical models from the data. Subsequent analysis showed that the effective thermal conductivity of Nomex fibers is primarily influenced by the knietics of fill gas conductivity.
