In this paper the term 'recycling' is defined and the subject of recycling or reconditioning of industrial fabrics is discussed, illustrated by some examples from Akzo's experience, in particular the reconditioning of PVC-coated polyester fabrics. Disposal regulations and likely trends in this area in Germany are also considered.
