Mats and ropes made from synthetic recycled materical, which can be used in the precultivation of water-purifying plants, were shown by the Institut fur Technische Textilien GmbH, Dresden in collaboration with Flor-Rekult, Bensheim at the Plantec International Horticultural Fair in Frankfurt. The special structure of the mats means that they are particularly good for rooting and subsequent stabilization of the plants roots. They can be used in water and can be lifted out during maintenance. They are a convenient way of recycling edge strips.
