The properties of Courtualds new solvent-spun cellulose fibre, Tencel, are outlined. Coloration properties and fibrillation control are also discussed. Particular combinations of chemical, physical and mechanical processes can produce a large number of different effects on the fabric, thus providing the dyer with opportunities for improvization and customization of the end product.
