Noise in the Workplace: How Much is it Costing You?

Between 9 and 12 million workers in the United States are exposed to potentially hazardous noise levels. Although hearing loss caused by the continuous exposure detect, it severely diminishes the quality of life and leads to significant workers' compensation claims. The help companies avoid fines for noncompliance with standards issured by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), prevent worker compensation claims, and protect the hearing of empolyees. A hearing conservation program mandated by OSHA demands that the empolyer conduct an annual noise survery to identify empolyees who are at risk, reduce noise at the source when economically and technically feasible, protect at risk empolyees with hearing protectors, and initiate regular monitoring programs.
