Results are presented which represent the first stage in the quantitative characterization of the rag pulling process in relation to wool blend waste. The mechanical induces obtained: power applied, work of opening, and opening efficiency, are determined by the material structure and the rate of throughput. The effort required to open up a laminate shows that every textile structure requires its own particular conditions to achieve effective quality parameters.
