Current annual production capacity at the Austrian plant amounts to 130,000 tons. Annual production capacities in the United States and Indonesia amount to 60,000 and 78,000 tons, respectively. The range of Lenzing viscose fibers suitable for nonwoven fabric applications includes products produced under the Lenzing Viscose and Modal brand names. The Viscose brand fibers (SC, spun dyed, CF, FR) are used in drylaid, needle punched, and spun laced fabrics suitable for a diverse range of applications, including industrial, medical, flame retardant, and automotive fabrics. The Modal brand includes fibers suitable for specialty nonwoven fabrics and fabrics that require a high wet strength and good filtration properties. Lenzing uses a chlorine-free process to obtain wood pulp suitable for fiber manufacturing. The company's environmental awareness encompasses all stages of the product cycle from extrusion to disposal. Lenzing is one of only two companies producing lyocell staple fibers.
