Quality has both an external impact on customer acceptance of and willingness to pay for the product as well as an internal impact on the cost of producing the goods or service. Effective strategies have been developed to manage product quality for an organization's best advantage both for internal production and for its selected market position. Only recently has the notion of total quality management become a core business strategy where confinuous improvement of all aspects of an organization's operations and products are driven by an empowered and learning workforce focusted on meeting or exceeding customer requirements.
