New Wool Plus Lycra

Du Pont and the International Wool Secreatariat recently introduced a new product designed for high quality knitwear, called New Wool plus Lycra. This blend of fibers combines the natural luxury of virgin wool with the technical performance of elastane fibers. This joint venture will use a worldwide customer oriented marketing and brandname infrastructure to make knitwear manufacturers aware of the advantages and possibilities of this material. In May 1995, the companies held workshops in all major fashion centers and demonstrated marketing methods for introducing the fiber blend to consumers. Advantages of using the new fiber blend include long term shape retention due to elastic recovery, the characteristic resilience of virgin wool, comfort combined with vitality, and improved product properties.
