the popularity of lyocell fibers has resulted in increased production capacity. The production capacity of lyocell is forecast to increase from 60,000 tons per year to 100,000 tons per yearn by 2000. Its abiity to fibrillate makes lyocell suitable for the manufacture of fabrics with unique surface properties. Fibrillation, however, can cause problems during finishing. A survey of state-of-the-art finishing processes discusses the methods of exploting the opportunities of lyocell fibers. 3 refs.
