Italian flax: an initiative of great interest (Italian)

A project to grow flax in the south of Italy and produce flax fibre entirely in Italy is being conducted by Eurolino. The flax fibres produced as part of the project were tested by two linen companies, Zignano Tessile (spinners) and Tessitura Monti (weavers). They tested the quality of the raw material, spinning and weaving properties. It was concluded that Italian flax has possibilities for use in the more delicate clothing sector, although some technical improvements in production are necessary.
