In this process a mineral charge containing briquettes is melted in a furnace to form a melt from which mineral fibres are spun. the briquettes are compression moulded and are bonded using an agent containing molasses, usually with lime. The briquettes may include vegetable or other fibres to improve green strength. IPC C03C C03B.
