Two heater crimping machines offer energy savings during yarn manufacturing. The continuous drawtexturing process combines filament deformation and yarn fixing in one texturing zone. Energy consumption is influenced by the length of the heater, heater temperature, structure of insulating layer, air flow inside and outside of the heater, ambient temperature, air humidity, and several texturing parameters (fineness, velocity, etc.). Factors that affect heat transfer include yarn tensile strength, crimping, velocity, heater temperature, air flow, finish application, filament fineness, and total denier. Energy savings can be achieved during initial yarn heating by the use of a high temperature heater or a condensation heater. To be effective, two heater crimping machines must maintain high yarn quality, low yarn breakage, long maintenance intervals, and easy operation.
