Delta and Pine Land Company offers DP 5432, a new cotton variety developed for cultivation in the desert southwest of the United States. Extensive testing of the variety, which began in 1991, compared the performance of DP 5432 with DP 5415, the most popular variety in the region. The testing demonstrated that DP 5432 produces 1.5 percent higher yields combined with lower micronaire, slightly longer lengths, and higher strength. DP 5432 also exhibited better seed vigor and plants reached maturity at the same time or slighter earlier than DP 5415.
