The production of a conjugate superfine fibre by splitting polyester and nylon is described. The drawing process is explained in some detail and the resulting bicomponent filament yarn, named Shumeise, is described. End-uses for Shumeise yarns are in the manufacture of artificial suede, 'peach skin' fabric and as a cleaning cloth.
