Dielectric measurements were used to examine the state of absorbed water and its effects on aromatic polyesters. The measurements depended on the quantity of absorbed water, but not on temperature. The dipole moment of absorbed water was calculated from the dielectric increment, which showed that water was absorbed in the gas phase. 14 refs.
