Chemical interactions between cellulose fibers and ionized gas plasmas during plasma modification are reviewed. Various reaction parameters are defined in an attempt to better understand how to modify a fiber's surface morphology to improve the adhesion between lignocellulosic fibers and synthetic plastics in reinforced composites.
