The production of eco-friendly textiles is discussed, with particular attention to jute textiles. Eco-friendly textiles are defined as those products which do not transmit any toxic products which may damage the environment. Potentially harmful chemicals used by the jute industry, ways of eliminating them, and equipment used in testing environmental parameters are reviewed.
