Problems associated with investigating the technological quality of the fibres with regard to the regionalization of new types of common flax (Russian)

The properties of new types of common flax are discussed in relation to two varieties.The impact of dew retting and aqueous retting is also examined. The quality of fibres from different zones of the stem relating to one and the same variety, but subjected to different treatments, can be determined on the basis of the breaking strength and the linear density. There are considerable differences in the flexibility, breaking strength and diameter of the fibres along the stems of the two varieties studied.
