In a move to show its commitment to the wool industry, New Zealand opened the Wools by New Zealand product development center in likley, the United Kingdom. This major investment offers its members the opportunity to create innovative carpets, rugs, yarns, apparel, and upholstery using high quality New Zealand Wool. The center cost approximately ＄5 million (New Zealand). The 20,000 square foot product development center houses modern offices and meeting rooms, an extensive pilot plant equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, and the WRONZ Eurolab Limited textile testing facility. The center demonstrates the high value the New Zealand wool industry places on product development to remain compatitive globally.
