Lenzing AG's lyocell fiber is a key component of the future success of the European textile industry. Lyocell, a manmade cellulosic fiber, produces fabrics with a soft hand and silky appearance that are especially popular in the current fashion industry. Fibrillation of lyocell enables processing as conventional fibers rather than microfibers. Reactive dyestuffs dye lyocell fabrics easily. BISFA (Brussels) and the United States Federal Trade Commission have accepted lyocell as a textile fiber type distinct from viscose or viscose derived fibers.
