Speciality cross section viscose fibers

The properties and performance of two specially viscose fibre from Courtaulds Fibres, UK are presented. The products, Viloft Original and Viloft Excel, have a flat and 'Y' shaped cross-section, respectively. Fabrics made from the fibres in 100％ form and in blends with polyester and cotton have been compared with respect to thermal resistance, wettability, water vapour permeability and resistance to pilling. Information is also provided on the end-uses for the fibres and on the sales increased achieved for each produce since 1993.
