An apparatus for making multicomponent hollow fibres suitable for insulation comprises: a rotary spinner with a housing, having a wall which is divided into two compartments for receiving two thermoplastic materials; several nozzles associated with the wall, having two passages through which the two thermoplastic materials flow to an orifice and which are in fluid communication with the two compartments; and several gas conduits associated with the wall. Each conduit ingests a gas into the molten thermoplastic materials flowing out of the orifice to form multicomponent, hollow fibres. IPC C03B.
