Kanebo Spinning Corp. of Japan is producing apparel fabrics incorporating Lacron fibres. Lactron fibres are made from lactic acid which is derived from corn startc. The fibres are biodegradable. Kancbo's Lactron fibres are stronger than other fibres made from lactic acid due to the spinning method used, it is claimed. Lactron is being belnded with cotton and wool fibres to produce shirts and suites. A table indicates the physical properties of Lactron fibres.
