Raw Materials Requirement Determination and Throughput Time Calculation in a Spinning Plant.

Research on flexible information control systems for small and medium companies in the textile industry investigated and modeled raw materials requirements and calculated throughput time, accounting for waste at every stage. Dr. Gellert ＆ Company Consulting GmbH's MRT system MSO (Model, Simulate, and Optimize) implemented the modeling process. The example used to illustrate the application of these flexible information control systems was the manufacture of 1,000 kilograms of Nm 100 combed cotton yarn. Calculations of throughput times, including a comparison of precise logic and fuzzy logic calculations, covered operations at the Autoconer, ring spinning machine, speedframe, finishing machine, combing machine, doubling machine, first draft, and carding machine.
