Machinery to extract fibre from flax

William Tatham have developed a machine to extract usable fibre from flax. The decorticating machine is cheaper and performs better than traditional equipment. It works by removing the outer fibres from the woody core of the flax stem. The flax straw is then delivered to the machine by a bale opening hopper. After it has been removed the fibre is conveyed to an industrial bailing machine.
