in experiments with plants m/sub 1/, after gamma -irradiation of seeds, and m/sub 2/ a study was made of the variability of somatic and genetic parameters. the variety 108-f is a plant of a median sensitivity. an unusual growth dynamics in ontogenesis is described (i.e. inhibition at early stages of the generative development is transferred to pseudostimulation at the phase of maturation). doses at which the yield of mutations is maximum are 160 to 320 gy. it has been shown on radiomutants that mutations slightly affect the correlative relationships between the parameters under study. the author presents a highly productive wilt-resistant variety 1541 selected by combining the methods of radiation mutagenesis and hybridization
