terpene hydrocarbon underbrush cleaning has been shown to be an effective replacement for detergent or chlorinated solvent underbrush cleaning. ec-7 spray cleaning technology has the potential to significantly stem the increased cfc use for surface mount assembly cleaning. the cleaning achieved with ec-7 has also been shown to be superior to that achieved with cfc-113/meoh. an engineering solution to the combustibility/flammability problems associated with ec-7 mist has been proposed and is currently being implemented. it should be noted that the decisions which were made that resulted in fabrication delays were necessary to insure that all possible combustibility/flammability issues have been fully addressed. it should also be noted that ec-7 cleaning require that the pc board assemblies be compatible with total immersion in water
