thick films of lead doped bi-sr-ca-cu-o have been grown with zero resistance above 103 k. the films were grown on nonsuperconducting precursor substrates. these substrates, which had the compositions srcacu/sub 4/o/sub 6/ and srcacu/sub 2/o/sub 4/ were coated by either sedimentation or silk printing with appropriate mixtures of bi/sub 2/o/sub 3/ and pbo. a diffusion treatment at 980 degrees c or 1000 degrees c followed. the films consist of partially oriented platelets 100 mu m in length
