in the cotton industry the finished product, after checking and coiling on reels, is transferred by a belt conveyor to the warehouse department and on to a special table where it is marked and wrapped in paper. the reels of textile are then loaded on to four-wheeled vehicles with two end plates, which are used for transfer to storage or to the point of despatch where the reels are generally manually loaded into containers. here four variants of a completely automated warehouse system for textile reels are described in which all of the above functions are included. each of the systems offers around 800 stillages, and they are distinguished by the type of container used for despatch and the type of handling crane used within the warehouse
