most utilities building or operating nuclear power plants use computer-based records management systems. these systems are labor-intensive; costs associated with data entry account for three-fourths of the total yearly costs. the objective of this effort was to identify hardware- and software-related innovations which can reduce the amount of labor and associated costs involved in data entry for computerized records management systems
