surface deposits on refractory fibers were obtained by magnetron rf cathodic spraying. the coatings included al2o3, y2o3, zro2 stabilized with cao, nb2o5 and nb. a device to coat continuously a line of fibers 10 m long was developed. a preliminary encouraging test is the effective coating of a carbon fiber of 10,000 filaments 10 m long with a 5000 a nb2o5 coat
