an improved warhead liner is made up of (a) a first layer composed of (1) a polyurethane elastomer which is the reaction product of a hydroxy-terminated polydiene intermediate polymer and a diisocyanate, (2) a hydrocarbon process oil, (3) hollow phenolic microspheres, (4) carbon black, and (5) asbestos fibers; and (b) a second layer composed of a hard, solvent-resistant epoxypolyamide; the first layer covers the inside surface of the warhead casing and the second layer covers the inside surface of the first layer. this liner is particularly suited for use in warheads containing rubbery, plasticized nitrocellulose explosives.
