the function of the 'pneuma-reiniger' coarse dust separator is to remove coarse impurities and heavy particles. up to about 10 of the impurities present in the wastes are separated and removed from the cotton by purely mechanical means in this unit. the task of the next cleaning unit in the line is thus made easier and it prevents coarse impurities being fragmented there and thus further aggravating the cleaning problem. the machine operates on the principle of centrifugal and gravitational forces. coarser impurities, heavy particles and a major proportion of husk are removed by a steel cage grid. the principle components of the clean-star are presented
