this paper presents the results of a work concerning an internal combustion ante chamber engine with four vegetable oils as fuel. the first part of the study consist in a detailed analysis of the different fuel physical and chemical properties. the second one is composed of the results obtained in a experimental monocylinder ricardo type engine. three oils, (rape, soya and cotton) provided encouraging results. on the other hand the coconut oil sets a major engine adaptation problem. finally a technico-economical study is sized from the experimentation. it allows to calculate the price of the producted kilowatthour in a portable installation using vegetable oil as fuel.
