a 50 - hrs operation test of a diesel engine with a turbulence chamber fed with cotton oil demonstrates the feasibility of the substitution of diesel oil by cotton oil. without any modification of the engine settings, the performances of the cotton oil engine are lightly decreased. this type of engine seems better adapted to vegetable oil than a direct injection engine. refs. in french with english abstract
