a conventional aircraft dispersal system was modified for broadcast release of parasitized insect eggs attached to wheat bran flakes. modifications to the conventional dry materials distribution system of a piper pa-25 agricultural aircraft equipped with a venturi-type spreader were minimal. they included: replacement of the gate-box agitator with one that provided gentle agitation of the bran; placement of a metering plate having adjustable openings in the outlet of the aircraft gate box; and suspension of short lengths of chain in the aircraft hopper to prevent bran bridging. results of calibration and distribution pattern studies are presented. field trials to evaluate the suppression of heliothis populations in cotton by aerial release of the parasite wasp, trichogramma pretiosum riley are described
