a method for the protection of cotton processing plant against cotton dust explosions is described. the inflammability of cotton dust layers on hot surfaces was determined, and supposed fire causes in the neighborhood of looms are named. the tests were particularly carried out using dust samples from dust chambers of a cotton processing plant in upper silesia. their explosion characteristics were determined by means of standard instruments.
