the necessity to take into account of thermal and thermoelastic effects when machining high-accuracy optical articles set one to consider heat transfer and heat release phenomena and their influence on the shape of final products. theoretical studies were conducted for machining glass articles with solid and ring-like tools. based on solution of equations of heat conductivity theory with appropriate boundary conditions the spatial distribution of temperature - induced strains over optical surfaces was determined. the maximal value of strained surface displacement and deviation of a preset shape can be calculated with the use of expressions derived. the investigation results are recommended to be applied for optical glass surface shaping. 2 refs. in russian
