the advantages of aluminum packaging over other packaging materials are cited. the techniques of fabrication of aluminum packaging are reviewed, including shaping, surface treatment and coatings, and decoration and overprint lacquering. shaping technologies commonly used include stamping, deep drawing, impact extrusion, piercing, swaging, embossing and tapering. special shaping, technologies employed include multiple deep drawing, the production of quick-opening lids, roll embossing and pre-piercing of capsules, and the production of outer capsules. also discussed are the hermetic sealing of aluminum packaging and the automation of production equipment. in french and english
