an innovated pultrusion equipment which includes a fiber drying chamber, a preheated resin tank, a pultrusion die with multiple heating zones and a post-cure chamber has been designed and studied the improvement of this design on pultrusion rate and the properties of pultruded part is reported. the influences of the type and loading level of catalyst system, filler, fiber and low profile additive on mechanical properties and surface finish were investigated. a mathematical model is proposed to correlate the processing variables, such as die temperature, pulling rate and die geometry etc. kinetics of curing reaction and heat transfer during the processing of fiber reinforced unsaturated polyester were considered. the finite difference method was utilized to solve the mathematical equations.
