instead of measuring the rate of enzyme catalysis amperometrically, the authors measure oxidaze-mediated peroxide formation potentiometrically with an iodide ion-selective transducer the principle of the technique is to immobilize physically the oxidaze, glucose oxidaze, in a poly $left bracket$ vinylchloride $right bracket$ (pvc) membrane according to now standard procedures developed in the authors' laboratory for the fabrication of pvc master membranes for ion-selective transducers. the paper compares the performance characteristics of this transducer with those of conventional enzyme membranes prepared by cross-linking glucose oxidaze with bovine serum albumin. 5 refs
