in the reported experiments, wool fibers have been treated with anion and cation tensides of varying chain length of the hydrophobic residue and at differing concentration under dyeing conditions close to actual practice at various ph values and at boiling temperature the hydrolytic alterations in the wool caused by tensides under the treatment conditions are proved with the aid of a new amino end group analysis technique. the mode of operation of the various tensides has been deduced from the results. amongst other points the question has been answered as to whether specific tensides accelerate the hydrolytic decompositon of the wool in general and also of individual peptide compounds, or whether a protective effect is present. in addition an attempt is being made to draw up an overall valid concept with the help of which it would be possible to predict alterations in reactivity caused by tensides. 64 refs. in german
